Design, Develop and a double scoop
Hello, come in, welcome, sit down!
The majority of the Just About team are in Brighton for a couple of days this week, getting their heads together to reflect on the Alpha and talk through the coming year. We’ll also be meeting with a bunch of community folk as part of our first micro-event during the Develop Brighton conference - there’s a handful of tickets left if you’re interested and quick. And there’s probably going to be some ice cream scoffing happening as well.
Being a remote company certainly provides plenty of freedom, but it’s also important for us to get together in one room, talk face-to-face, hang out, and most probably, eat more ice cream.
A design for life
We’ve said from the start that we want to be open with our communities and show you what we’re doing behind the scenes. Which is why designer Tom has gone into detail with this post on the design process at Just About.
It’s an insightful read with plenty of detail and a bonus pic of Toby the cat. Who doesn’t want to see Toby the cat?
Just About Gaming News
Our Just About Gaming News community is up and running, with a running theme of sharing updates on free games, demos and, err, something about a European Sandwich Hunt. Dave’s got a pretty cool idea about an indie game ‘book club‘ style group, and it looks like a bunch of you are ready to put your hard-earned cash down on Starfield above anything else this year. Quelle surprise!
Threading the needle
Like everyone else last week we joined Threads to see what all the fuss is about. It turns out, it’s about copying Twitter. Oh well. Let’s see where it goes once the billionaires stop slinging mud at each other.
While we’re talking social media, are you following Just About on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram? Good. And thanks!
Right, that’s it from us this week. Have you signed up to Just About yet? Why the flipping heck not? Just hit this button and join a community that isn’t built by clownish billionaires. And get yourself an ice cream. You deserve it.
